Our Little One

This pregnancy has been a 360 turn from what I experienced with Hyrum.

With Hyrum I knew from second 1 that he would be a boy and I never thought otherwise.

I haven't had such feelings with this one. I've been sooo sick from day one with this one. I have to take medication just to eat a meal.

With Hyrum, the ONLY issue I ever had was sever heartburn/acid reflux.

Those two things have been mild this time around.

I've had nose bleeds with this one, no bladder control when it comes to sneezing and barffing.. constipation..

All of the not so fun stuff..

Despit all of this, I was 'leaning' more towards this baby being a boy. Maybe because I didn't want to get my hopes up if it wasn't a girl?

I've always wanted a little girl, but I felt like I'd never be lucky enough to actually have one.

Today we had a 20week 1day ultrasound. EVERYTHING looks perfect, and exactly right. all of the bones, the heart, the brain, the placenta, cord, cervix and uterus are all good.

The only thing Ricky wanted to know was the gender. The tech, looked, and looked, every which way, up down and all around. Luckily baby's legs were not crossed, so you could see the area perfectly fine..

There was no penis anywhere in sight! :)

The little one in my belly is a baby Girl. She didn't stop moving or kicking for a single second during the ultrasound.

She's a very active little girl. It's weird anytime I say "it's a girl" or "she." I'm not used to that at all. It's been all boy, son, him, Hyrum, for 3 1/2 yrs.

We stopped by Babies R Us/Toys R Us to pick up some gift cards on our way home. I looked through the little Girls clothing while Ricky and Hyrum looked at some toys and bought the gift cards.. It was soooooo WEIRD! I've never shopped for little girl stuff that I liked and wanted to have at my home for my child.

It's taking me a while to get use to it. But I had the biggest smile when she said "It looks like a healthy little Girl." It was exciting, but odd hearing that word.. "girl"

I'm excited to finally have PINK floating around our home!

My Jaw literally dropped.

Today was my Final, Final exam.

There is no class the week of finals.

It is a week set aside for personal study, and of course, taking finals!

I had my last final at 8am this morning.

Keep in mind, this is THURSDAY.

We haven't had class ALL Week.

And today was the FINAL.

So, with these finals, you are allowed to leave, and go home as soon as you are done and turn in the exam.

Well, it came that time where people were starting to finish up, place their exam in the folder and leave, because again, this is Finals, and that's what you do.

I was giving my brain a very brief break while the second girl completed her exam and took it to the front of the room to place in the folder..

After completing her exam and placing it in the folder, she walked over to the teacher, said "umm, yah, I just have a question.?" ....wait for it.... wait for it....

"Do we have class tomorrow? Or, was this final, it?" ( "It" meaning -- the end)

Well, I will let you go now and give you a moment to gather your thoughts and pick up your jaw.

I'm finally done and can now think about Christmas!! and relax.. and Go to the Doc. tomorrow!

My Sweet Boy

Hyrum appears to be somewhat of a Monster at times. All kids this age have their moments.

I assure you, he has his very sweet moments.

The other day, I layed down to take a nap with Hyrum.

While we were laying down, he turned, wrapped his arms around me, and kissed me on the nose!

He called me his mommy teddy bear, and in a giggly sweet happy voice said "hehe, I kissed your nose!"

I have a stethascope from when I went through schooling to get a CNA. Hyrum loves to be a doctor with it.

He will put the ear pieces in his ear and come walking down the hall and state "mommy, I need to hear the baby."

He LOVES talking about this baby.

One day he came to me and asked "mommom, can we go to Doctor and see the baby?"

He has talked more about the baby than I have, and he has definitley talked about the baby more than Ricky has probably even thought about it.

It's cute. Hopefully he will be a great big brother.

He calls the baby in my belly his brother, though we do not yet know if it is in fact a brother, or a sister.

We will see on the 16th at 11am!!

THE Tree

Hyrum has been really excited about Christmas this year.

Well, I don't think he really gets the whole Christmas part.

He's been more excited about the Tree!

He walked in on me one day wrapping some gifts. I told him that he has to wait until we get a Christmas Tree and Christmas comes before he can open and have the gifts.

The morning after that little chat, he woke up, poked me in the shoulder and asked "mommom, did the Christmas Tree come?"

He kept asking this every morning for a week or so, then one day he went to his baby-sitter's home and they had their tree up.

When I arrived to pick him up, he came running around the corner and screemed with joy, "Mommom, THE CHRISTMAS TREE CAME! I need to take it to Hyrum's house!"

Things were crazy Thanksgiving weekend due to how sick I was and my ER trip, So we weren't able to get our tree that weekend.

Ricky likes to go to a tree farm and cut it down.

We finally had a chance to run to our usual tree farm and select and chop down our tree.

It took us a while to choose the one we wanted. All of the ones I wanted were Nobles, and I didn't want to pay $80 for a tree.. So, we got our usual, Douglas.

Hyrum was so excited the entire time. He was so excited to be bringing home HIS Christmas Tree.

Cherish Those Moments

Wow, another blog so soon.

This is seriously the worst time possible for me to be blogging.

Oh well.

Last night I layed down with Hyrum to put him to bed.

The plan was to sing a couple fun songs with him, say his prayers, and let him fall asleep.

Hyrum and I ended up singing songs, playing 'finger pupets', and chatting about spiders, bugs, movie characters he likes....

We did this for a good solid hour until Ricky decided he was going to bed also, and made us be quiet.
:(

Hyrum went right to sleep.

I had a good time playing and chatting with him. We don't spend time like that together extremely often.

Oh, and we went and chopped down our Christmas tree last night and Hyrum was soo happy to FINALLY have a Christmas Tree in HIS house.

While we chatted last night in bed, I learned that Hoba, an ant from the movie Ant Bully, lives in our Christmas Tree. :)

..Title?

This post isn't about too much in particular. Just updates I suppose.

I haven't been taking pictures tately, so I don't have anything to post from Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving was pretty good. We had lots of good food, and friends came in and out all day to eat.

I didn't feel good. Had an awful headache all day, that lasted until early Friday morning, and no amount of tylenol or attempt in fluid intake helped it.

I managed to survive the day though and enjoyed the company.

I had planned to do some Black Friday shopping at some point, but knew I wasn't going to head out right away and wait in any crazy lines outside anywhere. Plus, I had that awesome headache that I mentioned.

I decided I'd sleep, and nap, until I woke up and then go do some shopping. I woke up at 2am, but did not leave.

The headache was still there, and I get paranoid about going out in the dark, late at night, alone..

I have a phobia of being 'kid napped' and hurt.

Any way, I decided that I didn't feel comfortable leaving the house, feeling crummy and not being 100% on my game at that time of night. So, I sent Ricky to sleep in my bed with Hyrum and I took over sleeping on the couch for a little while longer..

I woke up again at 6am, got dressed and headed out. First stop was Target. When I got there, the parking lot was nearly empty, so I got front row parking. I didn't have to wait around for a cart, and cashiers were literaly standing at their stations waiting for people to come check out.

The other awesome part of this was that I got everything I intended on getting! and I didn't have to fight a crowd to get it!

I had the SAME LUCK with Old Navy, and Home Depot after that.

Once going to those three stores, I decided I'd just get back in bed because I was feeling crummy, but Ricky, Scott and Hyrum decided to wake up and get dressed to head out for some shopping also.

I was going to stay home and rest, but I was starting to have anxiety, after feeling so sick, and being tired, and having them leaving, I decided to put my shoes back on and go back out with the guys so I wouldn't sit around thinking about how I felt.

We went to, WalMart, Game Stop, Best Buy, Target.. I barffed at every store. While in the car driving from one place to the other, I'd have to roll the window down and hang my head out. I spent 30min in the bathroom at BestBuy barfing.

Fun stuff.

After we got in the car from Target, I emptied out the target bag by me and started throwing up in the bag.

Luckily we were right by the apartment.. I was able to go home, jump in the shower, and rest. Though I was EXTREMELY concerned and somewhat freaking out..

At that time I was 17wks pregnant, I had had a Dr. apointment 1 week prior to this.

I decided to weigh myself, and when I did, I was 8lbs DOWN from my Dr. Apointment just a week before.

I called around and got ahold of some on call nurses and they instructed me to go to the ER, due to the rapid weight loss.

I pretty much figured that I was dehydrated to some degree.

They hooked me up to IV's and started pumping me up with fluids, naseua meds, and an antibiotic to treat for UTI.

That day was the most I have ever felt my baby move this entire pregnancy. It was very happy from all the fluids, baby partied non stop for several hours. I wish it was like that more often. Give me constant reasurrance.

But any way.. That was my Thanksgiving adventure. And, I can now say that I have gone 1 full week without vomitting, for the first time in almost 5months..

Last week, I decided that at this point, no matter what, the baby in my belly will need a name. So, last week I started looking around at names.

I have a favorite name each day of the week. Nothing was really exciting me. I know that when we find out, boy or girl, on the 16th, things will be a lot easier. We will be able to focus on one sex of names, and crack down on our search.

I came across a name on Thursday I think, and I still loved it today. So, I MIGHT have a name ready if this baby is a boy! It starts with a D. and is Irish! it's fun, unique, and different like Hyrum's was/is, to most in the beginning.

I have a girl name that I have also been playing around with since the same day, and I have only divulged it to ONE person. Actually, this ONE person knows BOTH of the names I have picked out at the moment! lucky her.

Any way, there is one full week of class left to go. The following is just finals.. my last final is the morning of the 15th. yuck. but I can't wait to take it, because the NEXT morning, school will be OVER, and I will be getting the big Ultrasound!

On another note.. I am ready for Christmas.. this is the latest we have gone without setting up Christmas. We will be going out and chopping down our tree some time today.

I'm excited to finally be surrounded by Christmas decor. It's the best, and my favorite part of the entire year!

Well, I suppose I should stop being lazy and get my shower so that I am ready to leave when Ricky finishes up the work he is doing around the complex.

I hope you had fun reading my randomness. :)

No Control

Last week, I thought I was catching Hyrum's cold, the he had the weekend before.

So, my nose has been stuffy or snotty or both all together.

Then, Friday I started having nose bleeds. I've now had four since Friday.

Now that I am 16weeks, I started reading my 16week section in my pregnancy book, and it talked about the pregnancy nasal congestion, plus nose bleeds--- nose bleeds because of the extra estrogen and yadi yada..

So.. This is all pregnancy related.

I practicaly stayed in bed until 7pm today. I feel like I have no control!

Just one of those, extra tired, catching up on sleep, dealing with a bleeding nose kind of days.

I either sneeze, and pee myself.. or throw up and pee myself.. now, I can also add-- sneeze, and my nose starts to bleed.

It's only out of one nostril, and they aren't horrible, just really annoying.

A tenant knocked on the door today to tell me something and blood started pouring out of my nose. I had to grab a towel, and stand there plugging my nose while she talked, and then let her know I would tell Ricky about her issue, so he could take a look at it and fix it or whatever needed to be done.

I think I need to carry an emergency towel with me to class in the morning and what not incase my nose decides to bleed.

I was afraid to go grocery shopping in case my nose were to start bleeding.. I didn't want to grose everybody out.

So, Ricky is grabbing all of the holiday groceries and stuff for the week, as I type.

Well, that's my news and I'm sticking to it.

The big ultrasound is on December 16th at 11am.

I have no guesses or clues as to whether I am carrying a boy or girl this time around. I mostly call it a him when I talk to Hyrum.

Either, will be fine with me.

now, I am in desperate need of a shower.

Christmas Fever

(this is a 'Bubmlebee' themed bike from Transformers.. Hyrums LOVES transformers)

By this time last year, I was more than half way through my Christmas shopping.

I was buying for a ton of people last year, this year isn't going to be so crazy. Therefor, I have not started spending.

I did buy some fleece when it went on sale at JoAnns, so I can make some blankets for people this year.

I am 24yrs old, married, and have a 3yr old son--- I have not grown out of the excitement of Christmas.

My parents can vouch for the fact that gorwing up, myself, and my siblings would be out of bed waiting for Christmas by 5am.

I don't like surprises and just want to hurry up and know what is inside of all of the wrapping and packages.

Because of that fact, I am today, still as anxious about Christmas as ever! Especially now that I have a child who I get to see be excited when he awakes on Christmas morning.

I can't wait to give other people gifts, especially if it's something I am positive they will be super excited about.

It's just all fun and feel good, who can not like it?!
Now that you have all noticed the collage of bikes within this post I will explain!

My favorite and most memorable "Santa" gifts, were all of the new Bikes I recieved throughout the years.

I loved walking into the living room and seeing the awesome, new, shiny bike that Santa had left in the living room for me...

I would take a seat next to my new bike and that would be where I open my gifts when the time came.

I remember when Jessica and I would ride our bikes after school, or throughout the summer, all day long. We would ride so much, to the point where I mastered the skill of riding my bike, HANDS FREE, around, in and out, and up and down every street in the neighborhood.

I don't dare practice that skill today, and I have a bike that I love, that is far to expensive to ever replace. especially not every year.

I DO however, have a 3yr old son who has mastered the art of peddeling his trike!

Do you know what this means!?

YEP! My Hyrum is ready for his very own big boy bike.

He will have the chance to wake up, and walk into the living room this year, and lay eyes on his very

own, new, shiny bike, that Santa will have placed, perfectly and carefully in our living room, next to our Christmas tree!

The bikes you see throughout this post are some that are being considered, that Hyrum picked out while we were browsing through the Toys R Us website together!

BABY it's Cold OutSide

First of all, I really shouldn't been blogging right now. I should be doing more work on my 4-6 page personal essay so I can turn in a rough draft Tuesday night.

On another note, it's cold outside! "Summer" abruptly ended what seems like three weeks after it started. Now, we are welcomed with gray, cloudy skies, and 50degree weather during the day with weather in the 40's at night.

It feels like Christmas. Forget Halloween, bring on Thanksgiving, Black Friday shopping, and a month full of Christmas decor, Christmas trees, Christmas music and a month to really pay extra close attention to our Savior.!

October through January are my favorites months of the year. Within those months are two of the best holidays of the year... and I love the cool weather.

Other updates.. School is going well. I MIGHT be able to pull off a 4.0 in ONE of my classes, something I have never accomplished in my life.

I graduated from highschool on and all C average..

The nice thing about college is the fact that nobody is making me do it, and I get to choose and decide what I learn and the order I learn it in. (i no, this makes me sound totaly stubborn!)

Other than that, Ricky and Hyrum are doing well. Hyrum continues to surprise me with things he say and learn every single day. Ricky works 6 days a week now but he actually enjoys working the 6th day for the most part because it's all over time pay.

Also, Little Leiser is still doing well as of Friday morning.

I had a second ultrasound as part of first trimester screening, which consists of 2 series of blood tests and an ultrasound.

This first ultrasound was done at 9.1 weeks.....
..and this second ultrasound was done exactly 2 weeks later at 11.1 weeks along.

Isn't amazing to see what TWO weeks of growth and development looks like in a growing baby!?

In the first ultrasound you can't hardly tell what you are looking at if it isn't pointed out to you by someone who does know.
Then two weeks later, you can look and know exactly where the head, arms, legs, eyes, mouth.... are.

also, due to the translucent skin at this point, you can sit there and watch it's heart beating on the screen.

On Friday, Ricky Hyrum and I got to sit back (lay back for me) and WATCH our little baby on the TV screen in the doctors office for nearly an entire hour while they tried to get the little one to coperate to they could get specific measurments.

Other than finding out the sex of the baby and what I am able to start it kicking and moving around, THIS is my favorite part of pregnancy.. being able to just lay back and watch the baby move around, suck it's thumb, kick and punch the inside of my uterus for about an hour is like a HUGE bonding experience to me.

I still have my anxietys about the pregnancy and talking about it on a regular basis even though the doctors that looked at it and took all of the measurments and looked it up and down and all around told me that they didnt see anything abnormal, unusual, or of wrong size, I start thinking about my friends who lost their babies at 16-18 weeks... then I just leave room for "What if?"

I guess in a way I'm trying to protect myself from hurting to badly if something happens.. I KNOW it's there, and within the next 2 to 3 weeks when I can no longer wear most all of my clothes, I wont be able to pretend that there isn't a baby.

I have another appointment this comming Thursday for a check-up and to listen to the babys heartbeat.

I will be 12 weeks along, then it will be 4 weeks before I have another appointment.. chances are I will have my ups and downs and my anxiety about weather or not everything is ok, but I will survive. I should start feeling baby move around during the end of those 4 weeks, and I will be continuing to grow, so I have things to look at and stay positive about..

You wanna hear something funny..? I've been sick since day one of this pregnancy.. Now that I am nearing my second trimester, the trimester where you usually feel the best, I have been feeling a lot better and not so sickly, AND I am finally eating or at least have a bit of an appatite.

That's not the funny part, this next part is...

Well, now that I am starting to feel better... on the days that I REALLY feel good, no sickness or anything, I freak myself out and worry that something is wrong because I'm not feeling sick... this leads to me having anxiety, which makes me feel sick, which makes me feel a little better that since I'm feeling sick, I'm still pregnant...

Welcome to the complicated world that is Laurie's Anxiety..

Any way, now that I have used all of this time to blog I should go jump into bed so I'm not tired tomorrow so that I can finish my paper.

Things You Do/Don't Know

Since I was pretty sick for a bit there, I wasn't sharing a lot with the 'world' or blogging.

But between all of the sickness, I was/am still pretty busy and I'm starting to get a bit better each day.

Any way, since the last time I blogged I started school! Surprise!

I've just completed my first full week, and am now starting my second.

I am in night school mostly, with one AM class that I couldn't change to an evening class, so I wake up early in the morning every day and run to school for one 50min class.

I feel like it's over by the time I get there and sit down.

This early morning class happens to be MATH. I mean, who doesn't want to wake up early in the morning and start their day off with a math lecture? (barf)

My schedule luckily isn't very crazy. I am home from class by 10am every day, then I have night classes only 2 nights a week.

on Tuesday and Thursday nights I am in class from 5:15pm to 10pm.

This works out great because I don't have to stick Hyrum in a daycare yet, and I am able to work, and answer calls and do what I have to do still. Then on Tuesday and Thursday nights I just pass the phone off to Ricky and he takes over everything at home and the complex.

Luckily, my music class doesn't require me to attend, and attendance doesn't count against me. So, if Ricky has to work late I don't have to stress about what I am going to do so I don't miss class, then once he does get home I can leave and attend my English class.

So far I haven't had to miss class yet and I really hope I don't ever have to.

People ask what I am going to school for, right now I'm just doing generals and don't have any kind of major picked out. So I'm just on a track for an AA degree.

Basically, I'm just going to school and getting an education for the heck of it, because I want to, and because it's free as long as I hold a 2.0! Geeze, they really set that bar high for me. 2.0 sounds crazy hard to pull off! (hear the sarcasm)

Plus, having an education and a degree to put on a resume' would look better if I were to ever have to go out and get a big job to support my family if something were to happen to Ricky.

Now, on to the next thing lots of you don't know yet. It's still something I keep debating on wether or not and when to share the news.

I approach the subject with caution. I try not to get excited about it because I'm afraid to get attached and then have something bad happen.

I've been a complete mess since the day I took the test and it came back positive. At around week 6 I had a crazy anxiety attack.

After the anxiety attack I got on my knees and started praying and begging and pleeding till my face turned blue. It helped me feel some-what better but I still had a lot of anxiety about everything.

Finally one day I decided to stop freaking out, and I actually prayed and appologized to my Heavenly Father for begging the way I had been to allow me to keep this baby, and in my appology I said that I needed to just trust in his plan for me and that I would accept whatever happened, happens, or doesn't happen.

I told him that I'd understand if It's not the time for another child and that I'd get through whatever it is I am dealt.

I've started feeling tons better since then and things are going pretty well so far.

I am now 10 weeks pregnant, and had my first ultrasound last week during my 9th week. Everything in the uterus looks great, the baby is the correct size for the dates and had a good strong heartbeat.

I haven't had any bleeding or unusual symptoms. I'm still cautious about getting excited.

I have another ultrasound in about 2 weeks and maybe I will be more excited after that but I have had close friends lose their babies around 16weeks recently and It's scary to think about or immagine.

It's possible I will be on edge and extra cautious until I start feeling the little person move around and kick and hear it's heart beat at the monthly appointments.

Hyrum is pretty excited about the baby growing in my belly. He calls it "sister." He will tell me "sister is sleeping in there, sister is happy"

Today he lifted up my shirt and tried to 'tickle' sister then he kissed my belly and said "MOM, I kissed the baby!!" with a big smile and excitment on his face. He likes to look at the pictures of the ultrasound and talk about the baby.

He came with me to my ultrasound appointment because daddy was working out of town.

I plan to make sure Hyrum is a part of as much of the pregnancy as appropriate. Obviously he wont be there at delivery but I will take him to all of the ultrasounds and check ups when they listen to the heartbeat each month.

Only three more weeks left of the first trimester. Things have been going by pretty fast. Just taking it one week at a time and trying to make good decisions for me and the growing baby.

I'm not able to eat much and food is grose all around.. I feel sick from not eating but food looks grose. I might finally have a craving for something but once it's in front of me, or if I cook, once I'm done cooking I no longer want to touch it..

I no I need to eat something and I am able to eat just not much, and whatever sounds like it wouldn't be horrible if it came back up.. One week all I had was chocolate pudding and TONs of Ginger Ale.

When eating, I am finished after about 2 or 3 bites. My doctor said she doesn't care if I am eating or keeping food down right now, it wont hurt the baby, I just need to drink drink drink and keep hydrated..

So, I try and drink as much as I can when I can, mostly sipping throughout the day.. The last two days I've been chowing down on a jar of sliced pickles!

I like how they are cold, juicy, and the sour taste. It's like a form of hydration for me. I make sure I scoop up tons of juice with the pickle when I pull it up to eat.

Any way, I will update once and a while on the pregnancy but probably not too often.

In this very last picture you can see the profile of the little face and it has it's arm up in the air in front of it's mouth. I like to think it's trying to suck it's thumb but at this point in growth it hardly has elbows to bend, and it's fingers are still developing and somewhat webbed.

The Ultrasound tech was surprised when the baby lifted it's arms during the ultrasound. She wasn't expecting to see much of any movement yet. So, it was pretty exciting to watch.

I kind of felt like it was saying "hey mom, I'm here and I'm ok right now."
I believe this sums up all that I needed to 'catch up' on for now!

I can't promise more frequent updates as I am now in school and still getting through this 'morning sickness' crazyness so this will have to do for now!

Catching up

Since I last blogged my parents came to town and we celebrated Hyrum's 3rd Birthday.

I was really lazy about planning his party this year. I just didn't seem to have the energy to throw some huge fun shin dig, but things came together at the last minute and turned out great.

I didn't have a particular 'theme' for his party. We ended up with a really fun and yummy Thomas the Train cake from a tenant of ours, then just had pizza, fruit, drinks, snacks and a big bouncy house/slide combo.

All of the kids loved the bounce house. We actually got to keep it for several extra hours. It was dropped off and set up at 10am and wasn't picked up until about 4:30pm and the kids played on it till the last minute.

After recoverying from the Birthday Bash and getting a good nights' sleep we took my parents up to the top of Mt. Rainier.

We also spent a day in Seattle going to Pike Place Market and the Ballard Locks.

The Puyallup Fair happened to be going on while my parents were visiting so we set aside a day to go 'Do the Puyallup.'

...and Do the Puyallup we did.

I hadn't been feeling the greatest and didn't care to be out running around doing stuff and planned to only be at the fair for like 2hrs maybe... We ended up being there for 6hrs!

The weather ended up being perfect for the occasion. No bright sun out to give us sun burns and it was nice and slightly cool for all of the walking around we would be doing.

Hyrum got a bracelet to ride rides and road practically every ride there was to offer for a kid his age and size. (i decided not to do a picture overlaod of the ride photos)

After riding all of the rides we made a stop at the 'pony' ride station. Hyrum absolutley loved riding the horse. He was smiling and happy the whole time.

My mom ended up buying the photos they took of Hyrum riding the horse with a cowboy hat. It's so cute, and I'd share it but I have to upload it to the computer first.

I'm sure these will do for now!

I know ALL of the pictures are of Hyrum and nobody else... but I didn't take a ton of pics and was a bit 'under the weather.'

It was a nice visit and we can't wait for them to come back for more visits.

I believe my mom will be here in April sometime, so it's not too far away.  ;)

Lack of Blogging.

I appologize to all of you faithful Leiser blog followers!

I know I still need to post about Hyrums awesome bday party

and the fun we had with Mom and Dad (MawMaw & PawPaw) in town.

I've been pretty sick especially this week! If I'm not laying down on the couch or in bed, I'm running to the bathroom to vomit.

The only energy I get I use to take care of Hyrum. We wish daddy wasn't working sooo many hours lately but I guess we will survive.

So, here's a blog. boring, and not full of pics of Hyrum that you all like or anything fun but it will have to do for now!

He Turns 3

Three years ago, September 6th, 2008, Federal Way, WA at 2am my water broke and started this little mans life journey!

Hyrum Jerrold Leiser

(few minutes old)

1yr old

2yrs old

3yrs old!

What a journey it has been!

Hyrum was/has always been a pretty healthy kiddo. He never had any major illnesses, no broken bones, no trips to the ER, no collic, slept through the night by a month old.

Though he was a tiny tiney little guy at birth he has since, always topped the charts in growth at his check-ups.

He has hit all of the normal age appropriate mile stones, especially the 2 turning 3yr old tantrums.

He adds new words to his vocabulary daily and often says things that really surprise me.. not that they are bad things, he can just say things that for some reason I think he wouldn't have remembered.!

As a first time mom, for whatever reason, I forget that he can actually remember day to day life and happenings. He's a little man now who is filling his brain full of new things every day who can recall an event or person he met several weeks back!

I guess it's time for me to grow up in the mommy department along with him as well. :)

I often feel bad that our first born children are our trial and error kids.! But it's all a part of life I suppose, we live and we learn!

Things Hyrum currently loves at this 3yr old age are;

planes, trains, boats and automobiles of all kinds, shapes and sizes!
Dinosaurs,
Coloring, Drawing and Painting.
SWIMMING
Dancing
Transformers
being outside running around with other kids
 and getting dirty!

He is ALL BOY through and through.

Recently I asked Hyrum if he would like to have a brother or sister someday and he replied with:

"NO SISTERS, I don't want sister mamma, can't have sister" I then asked "ok, so you want a brother?" he said "no sister mamma, I want Caleb!"

Caleb is a friend Hyrum asks for on a daily basis and when it's been a while since he's seen his buddy he goes crazy and starts having pretend phone calls with him on my cell phone. :)

Hyrum sure does love all of his friends. He's such a busy body and it's always 'play play play.'

We wouldn't want him any other way! He has been a GREAT addition to mine and Ricky's life and we love being his mommy and daddy.!!

Canada Getaway!

Last weekend Ricky and I went to Canada for the weekend along for a quick 'getaway.'

I baught a getaway deal from livingsocial.com and I was excited to use it.

Ricky and I have gone on a vacation alone in 2yrs or so.

I had a bit of anxiety leading up to the weekend we were going to leave because I haven't spent a night away from Hyrum since our 1yr wedding anniversary!

I am with Hyrum practically 24-7, and nobody knows him better than I do so I worry that people wont understand what he is saying or know what he wants when he does certain things.

But he was fine with his Uncle Chris and Cousins, I knew he would be but I'm a mom and I'm pretty sure all moms have that anxiety when they are going to be seperated from their children and far away for a certain amount of time.

We left Friday early afternoon and headed to the border. I was really excited to get to Canada. I'd never left the country before so this getaway was a bit more exciting to me for that fact.

Our hotel was in New Westminster on the Fraser River. It's called the Inn at the Quay.

We didn't really have any plans of what to do once we got there or had things laid out to go visit or see so we mostly just walked around Vancouver, shopped, at yummy food, and watched some Cable TV! (relaxed)

About 2yrs ago we got rid of Cable TV to save some money and took over a friends clear' contract that was/is only $35 a month for internet.

Everytime I go somewhere where I am allowed free range of the remote control and cable is involved, I find myself extremely tempted to come home and shop for deals to get Cable/Dish TV.

When I was home in TX for 6weeks last year I watched every single murder mystery, investigation, real CSI, Police, first 48hr, cold case file television show that I could find.

Any way, I guess it's a good thing we don't have cable so I'm not home on my butt watching TV all day everyday.

So.. Back to the trip..

With the getaway package that I baught we got a free box of chocolates and Sparkling Cider.

It was going to come with an alcoholic beverage but we don't drink Alcohol so they gave us this sparkling Lemonade, I forgot what fruites were in it but it was too sour for me so Ricky chugged it down by himself.

The chocolates were extremely yummy and we actually got quite a bit of it in this box.

Below is a pic of the hotel we stayed in. It wasn't bad, we enjoyed it. The part I really liked was the fact that the blinds were black out blinds so when they were shut, not sun came in and the room could be totally dark!

We slept till 10am Saturday morning.. Which is a miracle for Ricky because 'sleeping in' and waking up late is 7:30am to him.

The first night we were there we just drove to down town Vancouver and walked around. We ended up eating Subway for dinner then Ricky to me to the movies at the Scotia bank movie theatre.

Guess what he took me to see!!??

Because I'm a total dork and love this stuff we went to see the 2 week theatre special of Glee 3D!

Saturday we too the Sky Train from out hotel to the downtown waterfront.

We ate dinner, then just walked around, baught some souviniers, saw some really strange people.

this pic. is of North Vancouver.

This is a steam clock, every hour it blows a steam horn like on an old steam train.

Below is a pic I took from our hotel window. I thought it was cool to see the little tugboats pulling the logs to their destination. We watch one of the logging shows on TV. (on one of the handful of TV stations we pick up)

And of course this is Ricky.. We were waiting on our food at the Paddlewheeler Pub. We ate there twice while we were in Canada.

It was right next to our hotel and the food is really good. Especially their calamari!

They had the best most flavorful calamari we have ever tasted!

So, now that I have written this really random unorganized blog post I should go to bed.

Sorry to any that read this!  :)  I'm tired and figured I should just get it finished since I've been "working" on it since Monday.
