Music Man

Unlike Ricky, I absolutley LOVE music.

I can listen to music all day everyday if it were possible. Because I have practically been a stay at home mom with Hyrum since giving birth to him he has grown up listening to lots of music.

He loves to dance, and right now he has a huge thing for guitars.

I have a guitar that I have introduced to him while he was even younger and brough it out last week and he jammed along with me on his paper jamz electric guitar.

I should probably do music stuff with him more often because it is something we both absolutley enjoy and have fun doing.

He likes to play with my drum sticks and drum pad when I decide to pull them out of my closet.

Any way, our friends from Texas stopped by over the weekend to visit and stay the night with us and they took this video of Hyrum showing off his guitar playing skills!

He was so cute doing this. If his love of music continues I'm sure my dad will be one happy, thrilled PawPaw.

The other grandkids in Tx already sit and 'play' PawPaws guitar, mandolin and violin, or beg him to play for them.

DAD, looks like your grandkids are going to whoop you into shape and help you reach your goal of playing more!

Hair on End

So, after moping around about not having any thing going on and being 'stuck' at home for 2 entire days I decided to be a cool mom and do something fun and diffrent with Hyrum.

Ricky was asked to go out to work at Delta Marines property in Anacortis for 2 days and was asked to be the driver to transport the group of guys he was going to work with..

This meant he was going to be taking my car because it's nice and big.

Any way, I hate the feeling of being stuck. so I made sure there was an activity to do with Hyrum at home for those two days.

The first day I took paper and covered the entire face of our coffee table in the living room and we drew and colored all over it.

Hyrum loved it. He has a thing for markers at the moment so we colored with markers.

For the second day, I ran to WalMart after Ricky got home to grab him a few things for his lunch and dinner to take to work with him for the 2nd day and while I was there I took a look down the marker/paint/activity isle.

I ended up deciding on some finger paints. I haven't done finger painting with Hyrum yet and he's almost 3yrs old.

I was a bit of a mess and a little worried about how it would turn out because I didn't feel so comfortable with the promise of the pain being "washable."

Didn't want my carpet and furniture being ruined..

Luckily it was a success. The finger paints ARE indeed washable!

Hyrum had so much fun.. He kept saying "money, paint so fun!"
(he either calls me momom or money, he has trouble saying mommy)

I'm glad I can be the 'cool' 'fun' mom in Hyrums eyes on occasion.!

Bored.?

Life has been non stop, one thing after the other since early to mid October of 2010.

In October we hit the road and drove down to Texas so we could attend Adrienne and Coreys wedding.

Due to a sudden out of the blue anxiety to flying after having flown probably 50 times before, I ended up staying in Texas for nearly 6 weeks so Ricky wouldn't have to turn around and fly back and back the long drive back home to WA so soon.

After hitting the road after Thanksgiving to head back to WA, I had a severe gall bladder attack just north of home. (Baytown, TX)

Any way, ended up in the ER and was banned from driving for the duration of the trip because I was going to be heavily medicated all the way back to WA.

All of my regular readers know the story of that so I'm not going to spend much more time on it but that is when things started to go super crazy.

Got home to WA.. spent probably 6 days in a hospital through December, had a bad reaction to Ambian and ended up in the ER one night in Jan. and also had the gall bladder removal in Jan.

Feb. was full of follow up apointments as well as other doc. appointments

March, more doc. appointments, was pregnant so I also had OBGYN appointments and ultrasounds

Then April 3rd I was in the ER once again but this time I lost my baby,

Month of May, I had weekley doc. appointments with one of my docs. and in to June.

June came and on top of the doc. appointments I was taking a twice a week step class at Highline.

Then the rectal bleeding stuff went on, had tons of appointments with that as well as an ER visit and a colonoscopy.

Also had testing with a neurologist during this time..

End of July Adrienne and Corey came for a few days, I finished my last two days of class at this time and had lots of fun running around showing Adrienne and Corey the sights.

Now it is August.. August 1st I had my final follow up with the neurologist and that's it..

I don't have any doc. appointments this month or next month, no school, no huge meetings or places I need to go, no big things I need to do..

....after being soooo overwhelmingly busy for the last 10months and now having nothing going on all of a sudden has me in a funk..

I feel 'bored' and I don't know what to do with myself or Hyrum.

Oddly, because of this boredom I don't want to sleep.. because I have nothing big going on I feel like I'm waisting time.. So when it's night time, when I should be sleeping, and no matter how tired I am, I don't want to sleep because I feel like I haven't done anything or haven't done enough!

So, I keep myself awake.. I think of something that needs to be done, or a good movie that I 'should' watch or I just simply stay awake in bed until the wee hours of the early morning reading books, cramming my brain with 'stuff' before finally sleeping.

Am I crazy or am I crazy..?

what do you think?

Cute

So, today was Sunday..

This usualy means going to church for most people.

The three of us went and despite Hyrum being almost 3yrs old, he hasn't quite figured that you need to be quiet during the first hour of sacrament meeting.

He woke up early today and was tired and ready for a nap before we even left home today.

This means he was quite the hassle during sacrament.

He was pretty noisey and we had to constantly ask

"sshhhh, Hyrum please be quiet and wisper."

It didn't work at all and we kept giving him little toys and stuff to distract him and get him busy 'being quiet' and focused on something.

Towards the end of sacrament meeting Hyrum was asked to quiet down probably 53 times and for whatever reason he was choosing to ignore us.

At one point he got particularly noisey and Ricky bent over to wisper into Hyrums ear yet once again to please quiet down only this time Hyrum saw what was coming and beat Ricky to it and looked up at Rickys face coming towards him and Hyrum said

"sshhhhh, Daddy BE QUIET, Be quiet daddy!"

I couldn't help myself and just had to laugh!!

Visit from the South

For Adrienne's Birthday, Corey surprised her with 2 round trip tickets for the two of them to come up to WA and visit us.

This was their first time coming up this way so we did a lot of the tourist stuff to let them get a good taste of Seattle.

We walked Pike Place Market, ate Ivars Seafood on the water front. Rickys favorite place to take new visitors is Dicks. He loves their burgers and frys so we did that one night also.

Eating at Ivars.

Before coming up to visit Adrienne told me to plan everything out and made a request or suggestion that she would like to go to Forks, WA. (you know, the place Stephanie Meyer has made famous with her Twilight Saga?)

So, one full day was dedicated to going out to Port Angeles, Forks, and La Push, WA.

I know that I have some blog readers that are pretty indifferent to the whole Twilight thing and I can see where they are coming from but to me, the Twilight Saga isn't much different that being someone who read all of the Harry Potter books and watched the movies.

The books were fun to read and the movies are okay.

With that being said, after visiting these areas of WA, I recommend anybody, Twilight fan or not, to take a trip out that way.

The scenary out there is amazing.

Plus you can go to the beach and play in the Pacific Ocean. This was mine and Hyrums first time to the Pacific Coast and I am pretty happy that our first trip was to First Beach in La Push.

The beach was beautiful. The weather was perfect.

There were many awesome view points along our drive. I tried to capture some of it but I don't think my pics do it justice.

Above here is the House that the town of Forks has appointed to be the replica place of Bella Swans home from the books.

Below are photos that I took while at First Beach in La Push.

Hyrum LOVES playing in water. He loves to swim and could swim all day everyday if we let him.

When we got out of the car Ricky took Hyrums shoes off and Hyrum took off for the water and jumped right in.

We did not take swim suites because I didn't think the weather was going to be SO nice out. Luckily I packed a complete change of extra clothes for Hyrum before we left because he got in the water fully clothed.

This was also Hyrums first experience with a 'beach.' He's only been to lakes and swimming pools.

Below is the truck Bella drives in the Twilight movies.

These last few photos are more of the Pacific Ocean leaving the La Push, WA area.

I can't wait to be able to go back again, and this time to be able to get in the water myself.

It was a short trip for Adrienne and Corey but it was fun. Hyrum got to get some much needed Auntie and Unkie time and was extremely sad when they had to leave on the Airplane without him.

Hyrum loves to point out airplanes and trains and big tractors and trucks when we pass one.. Now, instead of yelling "Look, Airplane up there!" when he spots a Plane in the sky he yells;

"Look There's Auntie!"

..to Hyrum, Auntie is still on an airplane flying above because an airplane is how she left.

It was a great visit for all of us and we can't wait to be able to see them again!!
