North West Folk Life Festival

For memorial day we went to the North West Folk Life Festival in Seattle. We had a really good time. We were there for about 6 and a half hours.

There was a lot of neat things to see, tons of little shops, diffrent food stands, and all kinds of little bands everywhere!

For any of you who have gone to pike place market with us before, know that I have a really hard time not buying every artists cd. However weird, diffrent, unique, or awesome the music might be, I love to listen to it all because just simple LOVE music..

Surprisinly enough..... I survived 6 and a half hrs, walking through an extremely crouded park full of hundreds of diffrent musicians and little band, and only left with purchasing 1 CD!! Ricky and I were both impressed with me. hehe.

Here are pictues of some of the bands and diffrent things we saw. and at the very bottom is a video clip of a song being preformed by the band whos CD I baught.! enjoy...

p.s. I tookd video clips of 15 of the bands, but am only able to post the one video at the time. so look for future blogs of those other video clips!

This Lady played her Violin for Hyrum... Paw Paw needs to
step up!

There were tons of little kids with their violins
and various other instruments preforming or
dancing for money to go to camps. This girl posed
there would occasionaly dance around when
people placed money in her bucket.

This man sat on a stool and hand made each of those brooms.
we got to watch him make a couple.

This band was fun to watch.. The guy with the acordian
was especially unique. I havea video that I will post later

Ricky bought me a 10min massage!!

Happy Hyrum

The Great Escape

A couple of days ago Hyrum was extremely fussy. Nothing I did would make him happy, so I stuck him in the bathtub to play.. He loves baths and loves being in water.

After his bath, I dried him off, wrapped him up in his towel and sat him on the living room floor.

I ran to go grab him paci and a couple of other things I needed to get him dressed, but when I returned...... This is what I found.

A towel, with no baby in it.

He crawled down the hall past me and into his bedroom.

He just wanted some freedom while he played in his bedroom.

After I got his diapper and clothes on... he turned into a monster and wasn't happy until he went to bed that night... Today I gave him some more 'free' time, but he peed on the floor.! that little booger.

8months old, and Lunch with Saul

On Wednesday, Hyrum turned 8months old! I can't believe that in 4months he will be 1! He is getting around more than ever. He's quite the explorer. Bellow are pictures of him at 8months old.

Saturday Ricky went to his friend Saul's house to help him clean out and organize his shed's and garage. Hyrum and I went over there around 2pm to visit with them and have a homemade, REAL mexican dish.

I wish I could begin to tell you all of the ingredients that were in it, but I can not. But one thing I do know for sure, is that is was absolutly delicious!

Saul wants to someday open up a restraunt. I think he'd have a very succesful business. I haven't found any good Mexican food since moving from Texas. So, it was a nice treat.

While Saul was finishing up the 'tacos' he said "You aren't supposed to put cheese in these, but I will put some in a few for you Americans." haha. Saul is a great guy. And he absolutly LOVES kids and babies. It's hilarious to see him interact with Hyrum. He will be a great dad someday.

Hyrum doesn't have much of a chance to play in the gras,
so he was unsure on what to do when we put him in it.

Hyrum wasn't sure if he could crawl in this stuff, so he
would plop down and do the superman.

Here, he is starting to explore and get it figured out.

"ok, I can crawl in this stuff, that's a good sign"

He found a pinecone and spent a while trying to figure
that out as well.

Saul made this drink from Cucumber. He pealed 3
cucumbers and blended them up. It made a really
good cucumber water.

Saul feeding Hyrum cucumber water. Hyrum liked it.
