Worn Out

I think that all of the baby prep going on around here has worn Hyrum out.

Hyrum has NEVER done this before... just fallen asleep somewhere when it wasn't bed time, and someplace other than his bed, or our room..

Have had people knocking on the door, phone calls, and Ricky even told him that he was going byebye... He stayed fast asleep here on the floor.

He's actualy still asleep and slightly snoring. kinda cute. :)

He had a pretty easy day today so I'm not sure why he konked out. I was the busy one cleaning out my closet and putting baby things away and I'm not tired!

I have a rush of energy today and dont feel sick.. It's a really strange feeling because I haven't felt like this in MONTHS. During all of this cleaning and moving around today, I keep thinking I'm going to go into labor or something.

MawMaw & Things

First off, yes, it has been more than 2months since my last post. No, I'm not going to pretend like I am going to 'catch up' on previous 'should have' posts.

I will however start from a little over a week ago.
MawMaw (mom) came to visit and help us get things ready for Baby A's arrival.
We did shopping, cleaning, organizing. She kept our laundry cleaned all week and did some projects for me that I found and wanted done. (Thanks to Pinterest.com and the creative people that post on there.)
This is a baby sling that I plan to use to carry baby A in...
this is the site that was used to make the sling. http://www.mykarmababy.com/pages/BabySlingPattern.php
my mom also looked up an additional video tutorial.

This next crafty project (will take pic once it is hung on the wall to show) is a Book Sling.
I found this on pinterest.com as well and loved the idea, plus it's basicaly a space saver for book storage in our apartment. My mom made two, four foot slings.

Here is a link to the tutorial and pics of what the finished product looks like.

Last, my mother came across this parretn and tutorial on her own and made it in TX, before coming up to WA. It's a car seat cover. These things have gotten really popular over the last year or so.
The sides have velcro. I can undo the velcro and pull back the fabric if i don't want baby totaly covered.

I don't know which tutorial she used, but here is are links to two tutorials that I found on pinterest.com if you are interested in making one yourself!

Other things that went on while MawMaw was here, was my baby shower.

It was probably one of the yummiest showers I've attended, thanks to the chocolate covered strawberrys, fresh strawberry lemonade with tons of fresh cut strawberrys, and Ricky making the ham and cheese deliciousness that nobody can name.

Today we took MawMaw to the Airport to go home for a few weeks. Afterwards, Hyrum and I went to Round Table Pizza and sat the for an hour and a half, ate pizza, salad, drank lemonade, and Hyrum danced...

I'm sure that if you go through old blog posts, there are several of Hyrum and music, and dancing/singing type stuff..

If music is on, and it's dancible, his body starts twitching... slowly and eventualy he gets up and breaks out in full on dance mode.

So, beware where you decide to take the little guy to eat, because he is sure to bust a move if he's feeling the music!

After pizza, I took Hyrum to SuperCuts to get his hair cut. I've been wanting it cut for a couple of weeks but refused to take him back to his 'usual' kids cuts place because the last two times, after telling the lady what we wanted, she grabbed some clippers, put on a guard, and just shaved his head all the same length (practicaly bald), and went back to the back of the shop to do whatever else that was more fun and appealing to her at the time, while leaving the other worker to finish with us and check us out.

If you're going to cut hair... don't go to work when you're in a bad mood and take it out on little kids and their parents... maybe you need a new job!

I figured I'd give SuperCuts a try because for as long as I can remember, I always had my hair cut at Super Cuts in Baytown by Target growing up and they never ruined me.

We were in luck!! FINALLY, somebody could cut my boys hair the way I asked!

He sure looks handsome if you ask me!

and to top it all off... He sported his new kicks MawMaw got him from Kohls for just $8 after she used her special shopping coupons she always gets.

First Purchases

Ricky had the day off on Monday for the New Year holiday.

We ate lunch with the Voellgers, met our boss to pick up our pay checks, shopped at Beehive Books,
Costco, Heaven Sent, and Babies/Toys R Us.

I finally made my very first little girl purchases!

At Heaven Sent consignment shop I got these 4 'outfits' for $13.

The black and white kitty one has black pants with it that have ruffles on the butt and ankles. You can kind of see them in the pic if you look hard enough.

At Babies R Us, I bought these 4packs of recieving blankets for 'buy one get one half off,' some new born Tommee Tippee pacis and 2 paci holder/clips.

We also bought the little trash bag container that will go in our future diaper bag. These little trash bags smell good and come in handy when you have to change a diaper at someones home or the doc's office and don't want to smell the place up. Plus, you aren't allowed to throw away dirty diapers in the doctors office any way, so this way you have a bag to stick the dirty diaper in until you get to somewhere where you can throw it away.

I had to get the monkey set. I LOVE pink and brown together.

I will sew some of these recieving blankets together to make thicker/two sided blankets.

Soo. This is what we have so far.. I'm not in a huge rush to buy lots of stuff, so as of now, when baby A is born, she will have a couple outfits, 2 paci's, and some blankets.  :)

The Name

I wanted to name my daughter right away. I wanted to have a name to call her, a name to sew into blankets or make block letters with to hang on the wall abover the place she will sleep.

Ricky was taking his time. He wasn't in as big of a rush as I was.

I started searching. I viewed several thousand 'girl' names and each time I cam across something I liked, I add it to the list so I wouldn't have to keep going back and looking again.

After looking at the thousands of names and searching through every available baby name search engine Google .com had to offer, I had a nice healthy list of a grand total of 13 names!

I know, that's a ton of names to have liked. How ever did we decided on one!?

After going back through and searching a couple of sources over a second time, and not adding anything new to the list, I decided that my daughter would be named one of the names on that list.

I took all of the names, went over them with Ricky and had him remove any of the names that he absolutly could not, or would not live with our Daughter being named.

Once that process was done, we have 8 names left on the list, so I took the 8 names and stuck middle names with them.

During all of this I had already chosen my number one name and was pretty sure I wasn't going to budge but tried to be open minded and agree on something with Ricky.

He liked the name that I was in love with but we had to choose and decide on a good middle name to go with it.

Christmas Eve came along and while at Christmas Eve dinner with Family, we kept being asked about names, and what we were thinking about.

After saying these names and hearing them outloud we decided.!! Finally, Ricky jumped on board and  let me have an official name for our daughter.

Baby Leiser #2, Little girl #1 will be known as

Adalyn Denise Leiser

We will most likely call her Addie most of the time, it's cute and fun and short.

On New Years Eve, Ricky bought me the 'A' charm to add to my Pandora bracelet!

Now, we just have to wait and see if she will have an April or May birthstone.

Christmas-2011

This was our first Christmas to wake up and open gifts being just the three of us.

Our first Christmas we were in Texas with my family, the other Christmas' we have had people staying with us.

It was a nice little change.

We got out of bed at 7am Christmas morning, and opened gifts.

Hyrum had a good time doing so, and we had to take everything out of the packages and put batteries in them right away.

He got the Rock n Roll singing, dancing Mickey Mouse. MawMaw got it for him. He always sees it at the store and turns them all of and dances with them.

Mickey was the first toy that we had to play with for 30min.

He got lots of books and the leap frog Tag reading system, and three remote control cars that he absolutley loves.

After opening gifts we got dressed and started getting ready for guests to come over for a big breakfast that Ricky prepared and cooked.

One of the news stations plays this fake fire on the TV screen with Christmas music all night until 11am.

In this photo, Hyrum was warming up by the fire and even put his feet up by the screen to toast them.

Later on, at 3pm the Sisters came over, so Sister Banks could use my computer to Skype with all of her family back home in Wyoming for Christmas.

While she chatted away,

We gave Sister Ate a pillow and blanket and she crashed on the couch in 5 seconds.

Sister Ate spoke to her family on Christmas Eve, because of the time difference. She is here from Tonga.

Once Sister Banks was finished talking to her family we left and went to the Voellgers home for Christmas dinner.

We had ham, turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, rolls, stuffing... the usual.

It was all yummy.

I was extremely exhausted due to the fact that I couldn't sleep much 2 days prior to Christmas. I was waking every hour on the hour and just couldn't get comfortable.

So, I mostly lounged in the rocking chair and dreamed of sleep.

I'm ready for it to be Christmas again. The next time we celebrate Christmas, we will have an 8month old baby Girl with us!
