Who can honestly say that they have had a best friend for 15yrs with zero falling outs, and never having to 'reconnect' after a period of time apart.?
!!ME!!
Jess and I met when we were in second grade on the school bus going home.
We lived in the same neighborhood, two streets apart.
It seems like we kind of became instant friends because it wasn't long before we were spending every weekend together at each others house.
We spent many hours riding our bikes around the neighborhood, jumping on our trampoline, dreaming of making a 'band' together, playing Donky Kong on super nintendo...
Before Jessica, I had zero tollerance or appreciation for Country Music.. Her mom was a country music fan, so I was stuck listening to it any time I was with them. :) Of course I became hooked, but I also opened Jessicas eyes to a new world of music as well
alternative, rock, pop, R&B... (anything but country)
All throughout our school lives, we never once had a class together because of course she was much smarter than me. And once in High School, I left to do my schooling at an alternative campus that better suited me.
We still stayed strong best friends and had our weekends together.
After we graduated High School she started her college career and I moved off to Utah to start a new and diffrent type of adventure of my own.
Still.. did that rip us apart? Of course not!!
We had myspace and then facebook, and of course txting to stay in touch.
All of my visits home consisted of LOTS of Jessica time! Though she was practically married to her long time high school sweatheart by this point and living with him, her and I continued to have our sleep overs..
We would kick him to the couch and her and I would share the bed. (thanks William!)
There were our fun, crazy trips to the beach where we pretended to be rock starts (cuz we are.)
And we can't forget about going to Buzz Fest concerts at the Woodlands Pavilion for Jessica's B-Day.
if ever an argument, we can agree to disagree and not let it get in the way.
We were always able to finish each others sentances, could sit on the phone together and never say a word cuz we knew what the other would say or what they were thinking.
Though I ended up moving yet even further from TX and ended up in WA, married to Ricky and started a family, our friendship never faltered..
Jess is now almost graduated from college, finally (really) married to William, they have just baught a peice of property AND a new house to call their own.
Me, I'm of course married to Ricky, an on-site apartment manager, and a mommy.
We both have a full life ahead of us to live.. I don't know what I will be doing 10yrs from now, where I will be, how many kids I may or may not have, or if I will have a college degree..
One thing I DO know for certain, is that 'I', will still have My Best Friend!!
!!Miss you Jessica Sue Shannon Brown!!
