We went camping in Eastern Washington at the Spring Canyon Campgrounds on the East side of the Grand Coulee Dam.
also known as, Lake Roosevelt.
It was a short trip but lots of fun. The scenary on the way was pretty awesome.
There is soo much history to learn about the Grand Coulee and it's creation and what it once was and now is today.
It was a very fun and educational trip.
One of our stops before we got to Grand Coulee was at Dry Falls (pictured below).
Ten times the size of Niagara, Dry Falls is known to be the greatest known waterfall that ever existed.
You can read into the history of Dry Falls and find out why it is now 'Dry Falls'. The History of it is tied in with the history of the Columbia River, Grand Coulee/Dam...
I found it somewhat mind boggling.. It's just amazing to me to see how far everything has come from what it once was to what it now is.
this is Kaylee and Kaiya, our nieces that we brought along with us.
The kiddos in the car were ready to 'go camping' and 'go swimming' by this point.
this is a fort that Kiel and Ricky made.. all of these random kids decided to help and be a part of it so don't ask me to name names 'cuz I don't know them.
Though, I will say that that is Caleb reaching in to demolish the fort while the picture is being taken.
The kids attacked as soon as the photos were done.
I took this photo while standing on TOP of the Grand Coulee Dam during the last part of the Dam bus tour that we took. (for free)
If you like history, or if you are ever curious and in the area, I recommend going to the Dam and taking the tour.
Standing on top of the Dam.
After the Dam tour, the kiddos went fishing and they each caught their very own fish.!
Hyrum and Caleb were most excited about them.. They didn't want to put them away in the cooler and wanted to just hold them and carry them around in their bag..
After the Tour and Fishing, we were ready for more fun... So we headed over to do some peddle boating!
Here, Caleb and Hyrum are getting into mischif as usual.. Probably plotting their next move to beg for Marshmellows before dinner.. :)
These two photos were taken once we got on the road to head back home from camping.
I think this is still part of Banks Lake..
I would love to go camping again at Grand Coulee Dam.. This was only our 2nd camping trip as a family and since Ricky and I have been married.
Our first time we went to Lake Wenatchee, we loved it there..
Now, we have a new place to add to our list of camping spots that we love and would like to go back to!!
