I stole this Blog Post

So, It's been a little while since I last posted a blog. Ricky and I have celebrated our one year anniversary, along with Valentines in a weeks time. We are also currently in the process of reorganizing our place, getting rid of things, throwing things away and finding new places for everything. So, we have been busy doing that, and taking care of, playing with, and spending time with our awesome son Hyrum, who by the way is growing SO fast. He isn't crawling yet but has been rolling all around the floor, he actually enjoys his tummy time now and no longer screams his head of when he is placed on his tummy. He has graduated from baby Rice Cereal, the the baby single grain Oatmeal and boy does he love his Oatmeal! over the next couple of weeks we will be starting veggies.! Any who, now that I have given a quick update, the message that follows is something that I stole from my friend Alishia and her Husbands blog page.

Elder Holland gave a talk at a BYU Devotional about a month ago. The talk is titled
"Remember Lot's Wife" and can be found on speeches.byu.edu. I am going to post the quotes underneath that I am pulling from Alisha's blog. They are good. Enjoy.

"There is something in us, at least in too many of us, that particularly fails to forgive and forget earlier mistakes in life—either mistakes we ourselves have made or the mistakes of others. That is not good. It is not Christian. It stands in terrible opposition to the grandeur and majesty of the Atonement of Christ. To be tied to earlier mistakes—our own or other people’s—is the worst kind of wallowing in the past from which we are called to cease and desist."

"When something is over and done with, when it has been repented of as fully as it can be repented of, when life has moved on as it should and a lot of other wonderfully good things have happened since then, it is not right to go back and open up some ancient wound that the Son of God Himself died trying to heal."

"Dismiss the destructive and keep dismissing it until the beauty of the Atonement of Christ has revealed to you your bright future and the bright future of your family and your friends and your neighbors. God doesn’t care nearly as much about where you have been as He does about where you are and, with His help, where you are willing to go."

"Faith is for the future. Faith builds on the past but never longs to stay there. Faith trusts that God has great things in store for each of us and that Christ truly is the 'high priest of good things to come.'"

"Live to see the miracles of repentance and forgiveness, of trust and divine love that will transform your life today, tomorrow, and forever. That is a New Year’s resolution I ask you to keep..."

Snow

So, Today it was supposed to rain. I look out of the window around 11:15am and there are tiney snow flakes falling from the sky, about and hour later the snow is falling fast to the ground and sticking... Hyrum wanted to watch outside and see the snow, so I let him sit in his Bumbo for a few minutes before we had to leave for a meeting. He Loved it.! and he was so cute, sitting in his chair, watching the snow fall, and chatting up a storm.! I am definitly going to miss the days of his little baby talk and ooh and awws, when he grows up and starts talking.. 'sigh'

Hyrum in his Bumbo watching the snow.

(Oh, Hi mom.) Hyrum looking at me taking pictures of him.

Hyrum, giving me his paci to put it back in his mouth.. He can take it out, but not put it back in.

'The American Smore'

So, I was going through old photos, and albums from when I lived in Utah and came across a must see.!! One night, before my roommate Kelsey left on her mission to Estonia in the Baltic mission, All of us roomies and a few of our other friends got together and went out to her grandparents Cabin, and had a fire, smores, and played pool, games, wrestled. ect.. Well, Kelsey and I first off, made the fire all by ourselves.!! we were proud.. Then we decided to get going on the smores on our own because the others were inside playing some intense game they didn't want to get away from at the moment.. Well, Kelsey decided to teach me how to make a Real, American Smore. I decided to get it on video because I didn't have anything to take notes down on. So, here it is for all the world to see.!! By the way..... Welcome back home to the States shortstack!!

Kelsey Hails

(excuse the awesome accent, her voice doesn't really sound like that, but we went through a huge Nacho Libre phase, and this is her fake "spanish" Nacho Libre accent. gotta love it..!)

Milligan Men

Like Father Like son.? hmm, I know one thing for sure, the Milligan household will always be a safe place.!! Warren is still in school, so we will see what he decides to do when he graduates, but whatever it may be, I'm sure will be just as great because he's very smart.! Any who, here are 3 of the Milligan men in Uniform. Aaron is in the Marine Corps, Dad works for the HPD and has worked there for 23-24yrs..?, and Tim is in the Army. Thanks for serving.!!!

February

The new layout and picture is to represnt a couple of things that will happen this month.!! One of course being Valentines Day.!! and the other will be... Mine and Rickys 1yr anniversary. Boy, has time flown by or what.!? In all actuality, I feel like Ricky and I have been married for like 5yrs or something.. It feels like it has actually been several years since being married, rather than 1 yr. Some people on the other hand reach their 1yr of marriage mark and feel as if it's only been a couple of months.!! But, I guess with all that we have gone through and experienced over the last year, including the birth of our amazing, handsome son Hyrum Jerrold, we have been kept pretty busy and occupied.! Any way, Other than that, we had a good weekend. We of course went bowling Friday night with our friends Ryan and Jessica, then on Saturday we went to their place to drop off a glider chair and stool for them and ended up going to down town Seattle and walked around at the Army Surplus store, then we went over to the malls and walked around. We went into Brookstone and all got amazing back and foot massages from the display machines then, played on this new and rather amusing, odd, workout machine type of thing called the I-Gallop. It aparently has been out for a couple of years, but this was our first time to see it..... If you ever have the chance to stop by one of their stores..... you MUST check it out.!!! I laughed so hard watching Ryan, Ricky, and Jessica try it out that it made me cry. I even got on and couldn't stop laughing and Hyrum started laughing at me when he saw me on it as well. Whoever created this machince should win an award for the most amusing work out machine to have ever been created.!! Genious.!! Any way, I could write a whole blog just on our adventure with the i-gallop, but it is simply something you must see for yourself.! After we were done at Brookstone we went to Barnes and Noble, then the boys went and retrieved the car while Jess and I fed Hyrum and changed his diaper. On our way back to Ryan and Jessica's home we stopped on the water front at Alki to see the view of Seattle from across the water. After getting back to Ryan and Jessica's the boys "Ricky and Ryan" took apart the glider chair and reassembled it correctly, because the previous owner had not done so, which i am sure is why they ended up not liking it, and passed it along. Any way, while they did they, Jessica and I looked up YouTube videos of the iGallop machine and laughed at it some more... yes, i know, immature maybe.? but we seriously think it's hillarious. Any way, I am going to end on that note. I hope everybody else had a great weekend.!!
